Kolkata Panorama [2] – Wanderlust
We leave it all behind
Home, shelter and rice,
Offering’s so simple, yet
It takes a dear price.
I do not feel the pain
When bare foot bleeds,
I don’t ever look back
That is all it takes.
I shook off all weakness
As I shed clothing,
It was a mere obstacle
That kept me from knowing.
Hunger had its share, that
Burnt me from within,
It was buoyancy of knowledge
That fed me for moving.
Once a woman beseeched
I give her a child,
Pity she didn’t know, that
I am mated for life.
‘Where is your God?’
They’ll ask all the time
Though we all know his abode,
Our body is his shrine.

When the mail arrived, it was without a picture so the words had a different meaning, with picture the meaning is different. And both are beautiful. However I feel the last second para is out of place or maybe I didn’t understand
Bhagyashree, Thanks for the read. Actually, most spiritual wanderers will look forward to one motive. They just want to meet the God and that is what I referred to by the second last stanza. It gives a light to an important aspect of their character. I hope this helps.
this is too good …
Abhra, You are welcome to Sonartoree also!
Love this paragraph:
“Once a woman beseeched
I give her a child,
Pity she didn’t know, that
I am mated for life.”
